Who We Are
Citizens for Principled Conservatism (principledconservative@yahoo.com) is a coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to the proposition that Conservatism can only endure as a viable and vibrant movement if it maintains a commitment to the core character traits of honor and integrity, honesty and virtue.
However, these character traits are not exclusively conservative in nature and cannot be co-opted by a single political party. Consequently, this coalition reaches across party lines to all those who believe that those core character traits are necessary ingredients for the public square and all those who inhabit it.
We call upon individuals and organizations across the political spectrum – all those who believe that character matters and principles are paramount – to stand up against people, like author and syndicated columnist Ann Coulter, who have demonstrated themselves to be without honor and void of virtue.
Here we provide an analysis of Ann Coulter’s spoken and written commentary, insights into the causes of her self-corruption, and opportunities for holding her accountable for her commentary and conduct.

We call upon all those individuals and organizations who sponsor and harbor Ann Coulter’s linguistic terrorism to:
¨ unequivocally repudiate Ann Coulter’s tactics of terror
¨ publicly denounce the hate-mongering and extremism expressed in person and in print by Ann Coulter
¨ immediately renounce their affiliation with Ann Coulter
Though this website is geared primarily toward the Conservative Movement, people of all political persuasions should be outraged at the extremism so evident in the person of Ann Coulter and so emulated within the Conservative Movement by acolytes of Ann Coulter.

NOTE ON LANGUAGE USE:
We have chosen to use the phrase “linguistic terrorism” over the more dramatic “verbal terrorism” for one primary reason. Though “verbal” packs a far better sound-bite punch than “linguistic,” it fails to encompass the whole of Ann Coulter’s written and spoken commentary.
While one could find a number of excuses for an occasional misspoken statement or rashly expressed sentiment, the written word is more problematic. Ann Coulter writes her columns. She then edits and re-edits them until they fully express exactly what she intends them to say.
Then those already carefully-edited columns are vetted by her editors at Human Events, Conservative Chronicle, Universal Press Syndicate and other distributors of her work. Everyone in the process has an opportunity to review the substance of her work prior to publication.
Despite all of these journalistic safeguards, Ann Coulter is permitted to lie, to monger hate, to threaten and intimidate foes, to engage in her own tactics of terrorism – without editorial oversight. Indeed, the more extreme Ms. Coulter’s columns, the more support she receives from those who sponsor and harbor her terrorism.
Ann Coulter’s written commentary gives credence to the genuineness of her most outrageously spoken words. Therefore, “linguistic terrorism” is far more accurate than “verbal terrorism.”
